Pre-launch checklist
Before opening, check: products have photos, prices, and weights; payments are active; shipping and tax settings are done; policies are in the footer; contact information works; the store looks right on a phone; and a test order went through.
Removing the password page
New Shopify stores are hidden behind a password page. Once you are on a paid plan and ready, remove the password in Online Store > Preferences. Then visit the store in a private browser window to make sure it opens.
Announcing your store
Tell people who already know you: past customers who agreed to hear from you, friends, and your social followers. Share one clear link and one reason to visit. Avoid promising things you cannot deliver, like overnight shipping.
A real-world example
The candle maker runs through the checklist, fixes two missing weights, removes the password, and sends a short email to market customers who signed up for updates.
