Define your offer & write a simple plan

Connect your customer, the benefit, how you’ll deliver it, your costs, and your next milestone.
Learning Roadmap overview

Step 3 of 10 · Learn at your own pace

What this means for your business

Your offer is the specific product or service a customer can buy from you. Your target customer is the type of person it’s meant to help — for example, busy parents, or doll collectors. The reason that person would pick you is the plain benefit you give them, not a slogan or a claim that you’re the best at everything.

A simple business plan can fit on one page. Include what you offer, who buys it, why it helps them, how customers find you, how you’ll deliver it, what it costs you and what you’ll charge, and your next milestone. Mark anything you’re unsure about as a question. Update the plan as you learn, instead of treating it like a fixed prediction.

A real-world example

A home organizer offers a two-hour closet session for busy households. The offer includes sorting through things with the customer and arranging what they keep; hauling items away, deep cleaning, and buying storage products are not included. The benefit is a closet that’s easier to use every day. Their first plan includes travel time, supplies, a price to test, a way to book, and three planned customer conversations.

Try these actions

  1. Write one sentence naming your offer, your customer type, and the practical benefit.
  2. List what’s included, what isn’t, and how the work or product actually reaches the customer.
  3. Sketch your one-page plan: offer, customer, benefit, how you reach them, delivery, costs, and price.
  4. Name two assumptions you still need evidence for.
  5. Pick a learning milestone and a review date, instead of a promised income number.

Pause & check

These activity checks and reflection are optional and not saved. Copy them to keep a personal note. Do not enter sensitive information.
