What this means for your business

Marketing simply helps the right people find out about your offer and understand it. A channel is wherever you reach them: word of mouth, a local event, a marketplace, an email list people actually signed up for, or a social platform. Pick one or two channels that fit your customers’ habits and what you can realistically keep up with, instead of trying to do everything at once.

Selling just means helping someone decide whether your offer is right for them. Listen, explain the scope, price, timing, and your policies, answer honestly, and offer a clear next step without pressuring anyone. Get permission before following up or using customer photos, and never send unwanted messages or make up reviews. Track your inquiries as well as your sales, so you can see where people need more clarity.

A real-world example

A home organizer asks whether a neighborhood group allows posts about services. With permission, they share a sample closet they organized, explain the two-hour package and what it doesn’t include, and invite questions through a clear way to contact them. They track how many real inquiries turn into bookings — not just likes — and ask what made the offer appealing or confusing.

Try these actions

  1. Describe your target customer and pick one channel they actually use.
  2. Write a short message naming your offer, the benefit, the scope, your price or how you quote it, and the next step.
  3. Share it where it’s allowed, or ask people you already know for a fitting introduction, without any pressure.
  4. Practice answering common questions and clearly confirming a sale or booking.
  5. Track where each inquiry came from, the questions asked, and the outcome, without putting anyone’s personal details in this app.

Only roadmap completion is saved when you opt in, not your reflection or activity checks. Without saving, progress lasts during this visit; nothing is sent to a server.
